A Day of Service

Today is the observance of Dr. Martin Luther King’s birthday. I was watching the morning news, and I heard that we’re supposed to celebrate it with a day of service.  I’m game!

Wow. I look great in uniform. I was suited up and ready to spring into service action. I waited for my first customer to arrive:

Where the heck are they?

Who knows, maybe they’re afraid to come up our driveway. We’re supposed to get an ice storm sometime today. But since I was ready, willing and able to serve, can’t I get a treat?

I am so awesome.

I know what I can do! I’ll guard the front door for Mom:

I love you!

No one could get past you unnoticed. Your guarding is a valued service today and any day.

I see that you may have a call to service in washington DC so don’t put your service tag away.
