Today was my mom’s annual piano recital. This was, of course, preceded by tons of angst, cleaning, cooking and worrying. What if a student forgets their music? (she has duplicates). What if a student starts crying? (she deals with this all the time with her preschoolers). What if someone sees a cobweb on the ceiling? (Wow, that would REALLY be horrible, because that’s never happened before to anyone). What if a giant sinkhole opens underneath the basement during the recital? (Okay, you’ve got me there). Is there anything she won’t worry about? The short answer is no. Time to get out the good luck gnome:
It worked. The students performed magnificently. Afterwords, as usual, they ran around the house like maniacs while their parents, friends and relatives enjoyed snacks and beverages. A good time was had by all.
Tomorrow is a very special day for a very special girl:
I am very proud of you, as are Gramma K and Grandpa Magestic. You’re on your way!
I love you all!
